I have to tell you that ironically, this was one of the hardest videos I’ve done. For some reason, I just couldn’t get it “right”. It took many tries to get this video recorded which made me laugh given that the topic at hand is perfectionism. 🙂
Having said that, I do have high standards for myself and want to give you great information that really serves to help you in your life and business. However, sometimes I have to let go of getting it “perfect” so I can actually get the information out to you! There is a fine line between high standards and perfectionism.
The truth is you are perfect as you are, but perfectionism is a myth. The more you strive to be perfect and in control of all aspects of your life, the more stressed you will be and more chaos will start to ensue. It can be exhausting trying to be perfect all the time because it’s an unachievable and unsustainable goal!
In addition, you could miss out on some really cool things in your life. If you’re only focused on being perfect, you may not start that project you’ve been thinking about doing for a year, or try dancing as an adult, or try your hand at being a writer, or starting your own business. Then you look back at your life and wonder why it wasn’t as fulfilling as you might have liked.
While it might seem like a good idea to make sure everything’s perfect, it’s also not very exciting. Besides, you could spend months, even years waiting for the “perfect” time, situation, knowledge etc. to avoid failing at being perfect…and then you never fully express who you are or actually get your work out into the world. I would much prefer to see you sharing all of your imperfectly, perfect self and fully experiencing life to the fullest.
Once you’ve watched the video (there are more tips in there to overcome perfectionism), I’d love to hear from you.

Until next time, remember how wonderful you are in your perfect imperfections. 🙂
