Your Gut Has a Mind of Its Own

Your Gut Has a Mind of it’s Own

Your Gut and Intuition are Important to Follow When Making Big Decisions

I was recently in a business meeting and we were discussing a big decision we had to make.  Something just wasn’t right.

I couldn’t put my finger on it in the moment, but I just knew that what the others wanted to do wasn’t right for me.

So I told them that there was something bugging me and that my gut feeling was that we shouldn’t move forward.

Well, that brought on some heat!  I was point blank told my gut feeling had nothing to do with making a decision.

I respectfully said that I do believe it has merit and that I need to listen to it, even if I didn’t know exactly why in the moment.

So, I took a step back and looked at what was going on. What was it that my intuition (which is much wiser and smarter than my rational brain) telling me?

In this episode of Empowerment TV, I share with you some questions you can ask yourself to understand why your gut or intuition is telling you something.

I also talk about a book that proves that our “gut feeling” has scientific merit and why listening to is an important part making decisions. It could save you a bunch of pain and heartache down the road.

And of course, I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Have you ever followed your gut feeling or intuition that totally paid off? How did it feel?  Please share in the comments below.

Remember, even if you don’t know why you feel something, keep honing that intuition skill and listening to your gut. It really does have a mind of it’s own! (Watch the video to find out why!)

PS. Using these questions and tools I share, helped me get clear on what was bugging me. And I was able to show them in concrete terms why we shouldn’t move forward.

PPS. Even if you don’t come up with a concrete reason, follow that feeling and don’t let anyone pressure you into doing something that doesn’t feel right.

  1. It is so true!
Most of the times I have gone against my gut it backfires!
Sometimes my husband asks me: “How do you know? ”
My answer is: “I just know”

  2. This is so important. It is essential for us to trust ourselves and to honor our feelings.
    Great tips for self-reflection. 🙂
