Life truly is NOW.
I’ve had a kick in the pants a few times recently that have reminded me how important it is to LIVE NOW.
Here’s a few of the more impactful ones:
My step sister passed away. At a young age. She was so courageous it was inspiring.
I was almost in the middle of car accident on the highway. I would have been in the middle of a multi-car pile up. One second different and I may not have been here to write this.
I’m not trying to be dramatic. I’m just saying – life is precious. Are you living it with this is mind?
Those two experiences changed the trajectory of my life. They really made me think.
However, there was a bit of a divine moment after the near miss accident.
A voice in my head said “I’m done”.
Not in the sense of life is over. But more that life is beginning. In a new way. I’m done with the old.
I was done with tolerating playing small. Which is ironic. I had already sold one of my businesses for a 900% return on the initial investment. I had “made it”.
But I knew there was more. And to get to the next level was going to be uncomfortable. It would be a stretch.
I knew that I would have to expand my identity. To see myself in a new way. To see my future self.
Well, nothing like a true flash of my life to kick start that whole process.
Here’s what I did.
I started telling the people who I love, that I love them.
I started deepening the relationships I already had.
I bought the damn car I’d been dreaming of. (It’s a Porsche. YES IT’S FUN!)
I raced my friend’s even faster car on the drag strip. (Adrenaline rush!)
I bought a horse. I went back to my roots.
I stepped up into myself.
Now I own who I am at a whole new level. I’m still expanding, growing, learning.
It’s not that I didn’t have a passion for life. I did. It’s just that now it’s richer and I’m more BRAVE.
Starting anything new can be considered brave. But really, acknowledging what you really want for your life….that’s what’s truly brave and courageous.
So, are you being brave? Courageous? Are you expanding? Growing? Learning? Doing the things you’ve been thinking about?
One of the other things I had been thinking about was helping entrepreneurs own their worth. I’ll tell you what – I was challenged on many fronts with the business I sold and my worth was challenged by others.
To sell that business was an exercise in owning my worth. Thank goodness I had people around me reminding me to OWN IT.
And BE IT.
I was certain on my outcome and I saw it through to the end.
Now I’ve done that again. My goal is to help aspiring and seasoned entrepreneurs make their dreams come true through creating businesses that WORK FOR THEM
